The company was founded in 1994 and premiered with the comedy Clara's on the Curtains by Arthur Lovegrove, at Ivybridge Community College.
We have since performed eleven pantomimes and over thirty plays, ranging from thrillers, comedies and the absurd. Also, we regularly perform murder mystery events, under the name of 'Black Ivy Mysteries' for organisations within and outside of Ivybridge, often to raise money for various charities.
The venues for our performances vary, and have consisted of schools, churches, sports centres, Athenaeum, Plymouth Theatre Royal, Chapel Place and more recently the Watermark, Erme Court.
We recently performed a modern version of 'Snow White'. It was a great success with record audiences at The Watermark. We are currently in the middle of rehearsals for the famous Agatha Christie play - And Then There Were None - check out the News section for more information.
In 2003 the company gained Charity status, enabling us to provide workshops and support charity and community events. Members of the company have led a voice workshop, movement workshop and are planning an improvisation and dialect workshop.
